Easy Drink Pack’s mission is to produce the highest quality and best tasting Açai products. We only use the highest possible processing standards from harvest to finished product. Our Açai products are made in a facility that was built according to HACCP (Hard Analysis Critical Control Point) requirements.
Only 7% of all the Açai in Brazil is planted and grown on farms. Most of the Açai grows wild in the Amazon Rainforest on high branches of tall palm trees. Açai grows in several different places in Brazil including the Acre, Para, and Amapa regions.
We get a large majority of our Açai from the Para region which has very rich soil and heavy concentrations of limestone. Açai from such flooded areas is the most natural form of Açai that can be found and also tastes the best.
Working with over 140 native families, the indigenous people harvest the Açai berry. Each working crew of two people sails down the rivers looking for Açai trees with ripe berries. The Açai trees can be 80 feet tall and can have several branches of ripe fruit. The workers are carefully trained to harvest the Açai berries in a manner which does not harm the trees. The Açai fruit is then collected in baskets and taken by boat and truck to the nearest production facility.
When the Açai arrives at the collection facility, the whole, unopened berry moves through three separate washing tanks. After being washed, the fruit is transferred to a conveyer belt which moves the berries through a machine that removes and discards the top of the fruit. This is where bacteria typically occurs in the wild. Next, the fruit is separated from its seed, and the Açai pulp is manufactured. The Açai pulp is moved to a holding tank where it is mixed with water. The amount of water mixed with the Açai determines the grade of Açai that will be produced. When less water is mixed with the Açai pulp, a purer and more expensive form of Açai results. There are three grades of Açai – popular, medio, and especial. These grades were established by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and are calculated based on the percentage of solids (Açai) mixed with water. Again, the higher the solids content, the higher the grade of Açai.
Our Açai puree has a high grade of solids (14%). Because of this all of our certified organic Açai products are the most potent Açai products possible. Please note that both our Açai puree processing facility and our Açai powder production plant are certified organic by IFOAM and NOP.
